Frequently asked questions

HICAPS does not charge for PMS integration. Some PMS providers may charge  for enabling or maintaining the integration - check with your software provider for details.

Your PMS is your first point of contact for help with integration setup, configuration, or troubleshooting. They can assist with activating the connection, resolving technical issues, and ensuring everything is working correctly.

Setup time varies per PMS. In most cases, the integration is already available with the PMS and just needs to be activated. Your PMS can walk you through the configuration process, which typically takes minutes rather than days to set up.

Contact your PMS to ask about a HICAPS integration or reach out to us at integrations@hicaps.com.au to suggest a new integration. You can also use HICAPS Digital directly for online government scheme claiming while waiting for integration.

Not necessarily. If your PMS integrates with HICAPS Digital, you can submit online government scheme claims without a terminal. However, for EFTPOS transactions and private health insurance claiming, a HICAPS terminal is required. Check with your PMS provider to see which integration pathways are available.

It depends on your integration type. If your PMS integrates with both Terminal and Digital, you can handle most transactions from within your PMS. HICAPS Digital remains available as a fallback or for any claiming types not yet covered by your PMS integration.
