Eligible naturopaths can be added to an existing HICAPS setup using Add New Provider and may be able to connect to an existing HICAPS Terminal through Multi-Merchant, allowing multiple practitioners within the same clinic to access HICAPS services while maintaining their own provider arrangements where applicable.

Understanding eligibility requirements

Several factors determine whether a claim can be assessed and paid at the point of service, including:

  • Whether the health fund participates in naturopathy claiming

  • Whether the practitioner is recognised by the health fund

  • Whether the practitioner meets relevant accreditation and eligibility requirements

  • Whether the member's policy includes naturopathy cover and sufficient available benefits

Claim approval is determined by the individual health fund's rules and the member's policy entitlements. HICAPS facilitates the claim transaction but does not determine benefit eligibility
