Teachers Health Fund Levels Up with Digital

The recent launch of the new Teachers Health Fund Android and iOS mobile apps mark a significant milestone in the company’s digital transformation journey.

With both platforms now in the hands of real users as part of the beta launch, early feedback is painting a vivid picture of how customers are interacting with the experience—and where the biggest opportunities lie.

According to Maggie Issa, Digital Service lead for Teachers Health, “Our vision for the app is for our members to be able to self-serve when they want and where they want, all from their mobile device. Having a digital card is paramount to supporting this vision, as members often don’t carry around wallets but always have their phone at hand.”

Users are not only opening the Teachers Health app more frequently, but they’re also staying longer and exploring more features. This early traction suggests that the experience is resonating well, possibly due to smoother performance or a more intuitive interface.

Across both platforms, one feature stands out: claims.

Claims has been the most consistently used feature of the app, indicating that users see real value on many levels in managing their claims digitally. The new digital card is also gaining traction, with a growing number of users making repeat claims.

HICAPS and modalities are of course a part of this. So far, Physio & Exercise Physiology, Natural Therapies and Chiro & Osteo are the most popular claim modalities.

Members’ experience has been positive, with feedback so far including “Excellent. Used for the first time today at the Dentist. Seamless for us both. So handy”; “Waiting for my digital card to come across to my Apple Watch. PS great idea!” “Finally, I have the card in my wallet! Thank you so much!”

Brad Joyce, CEO, Teachers Health Group said, “The launch of Teachers Health new mobile apps form an integral part of our business transformation and an exciting period of growth. This is more than just a technological upgrade for our members.  It’s about delivering an easier, faster and smarter experience for our members – who are at the heart of everything we do.

This also means we can deliver a more connected, engaged and responsive business that’s built for the future and the unique needs of our members”.

As Teachers Health Group continues to evolve its digital services, the focus remains clear: supporting the health and wellbeing of members, and making health cover simpler, smarter, and more accessible.
