HBF joins HICAPS...

HBF will be offering electronic claiming services for physiotherapists, dentists, optometrists, podiatrists (excluding surgery), chiropractors in Western Australia only, via HICAPS, from April 2008.
For your terminal to recognise these new member cards you will need to initialise your terminal. Please see below to download a step by step guide on how to initialise your HICAPS terminal.

New enhancement to HICAPS…Quotation function now available
Health service providers regularly provide us with valuable feedback on how we can improve or extend our service and in response to this feedback HICAPS is now introducing quotation functionality to the HICAPS terminal. This new enhancement enables your patients to receive an estimate on their health insurance benefit before receiving their service.
At this stage the Quotation function is only available to patients who are members of an initial number of health funds. HICAPS is continuing to work with the remaining health funds to make functionality available with all the HICAPS participating health funds.

The piece of the payment and reconciliation puzzle that allows you to view your HICAPS transactions and payments online.
Easy to use and very flexible, HICAPS Accounts Online is ready to start working for you right now - all with no fees from HICAPS - with those health funds participating in the HICAPS Payment & Reconciliation Solution. HICAPS has recently issued a unique User ID and temporary password to all participating HICAPS providers, along with an information brochure and a ''getting started'' guide. However, if you have misplaced yours please contact the HICAPS Help Desk on 1300 65 08 52 to obtain your copy.

Multilevel security
Being an internet-based system, HICAPS Accounts Online incorporates a range of security features. For a start, it utilises 128-bit encryption, a well known standard in internet security. In addition, the HICAPS Accounts Online website is password protected. There are also three different levels of access, which means you can control who uses the system, and the features they use when they do.
Flexible reporting on demand
HICAPS Accounts Online puts payment and transaction data from participating health funds at your fingertips. With little more than a few keystrokes you can access statements for reconciliation, produce daily total reports and generate detailed or summary.
Modify statement frequency
Not only does HICAPS Accounts Online give you the ability to generate a variety of reports, it also provides Level 3 access users with the ability to modify online statement frequency. You can modify your statement frequency to daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly or quarterly, whichever suits you. Note: Only monthly and quarterly summary statements are available on paper. All other types are available online.
